This affordable river front cabin is well located for all your outdoor activities. The cabin sits on the beautiful and barely developed Presque Isle River where it flows through miles and miles of Federal Forest keeping it serene and undeveloped. You can paddle downstream to Minnewawa and Nimikin Falls. If you are really adventurous you can paddle upstream to Yondota Falls. The stream is slow and relaxing as it passes the cabin. Snowmobile Trail #8 is at the end of the driveway and connects to the entire trail system throughout the UP and Wisconsin. Lake Gogebic is just 7 miles away for some of the best fishing in the Upper Peninsula as well as your all sport activities. Porcupine Mountains Wilderness area is just 20 miles away with Lake Superior just beyond the park. The cabin is located just off M-28 for easy access to town or an easy commute up from lower Michigan or Wisconsin. M-28 is a well maintained and regularly plowed highway. The cabin is a little older and does retain some of that character while also being well maintained and loved. There is a bunk room with 4 beds as well as 2 other bedrooms. The dine in kitchen has had some updates and features a LOT of storage. The living room has a great view out over the river. The family/game room can be opened up in the summer to function like a screened porch. It has a wall of windows looking out over the river and a porch through the sliding glass doors. Though this room is not heated it is insulated and with a fire going in the living room it is easy to maintain a comfortable temperature. With over an acre of land there is plenty of room to build a pole barn in addition to the garage/workshop that are already there. While the property does not directly adjoin state/fed land there is 100s of 1000s of acres of federal land just 100 yards away. This cabin has been used as a short term vacation rental and is much busier in winter than in summer potentially providing a great advantage for snowbirders.
